Veterans Day - bringing us together
Veterans Day is for everyone, not just veterans. This project brings veterans and their stories closer to the community by making it easy and welcoming to get involved. Through simple, visual, and hands-on designs, we create a space where people can connect, think, and become more aware together.
White Carnation Vases
Take a white carnation.
Today we celebrate unity together.
A small gesture, a shared story.
In public spaces, special vases hang from lampposts, filled with white carnations. Passers-by are invited to take a flower as a simple gesture of connection. The sign reads:
“Today is Veterans Day. Take a white carnation —
today we celebrate unity together.”
The veteran community reaches out to society as a small act, creating a lasting moment to reflect and share.
The ConnecTable
A Symbol of Connection in Town Halls
For town halls, we designed a special ConnecTable that turns completely white on Veterans Day. White carnations stand tall within the table, surrounded by short, meaningful texts like “I fight for your freedom.” This makes the table a powerful symbol of connection and gratitude, inviting conversation and meeting.
For the rest of the year, the table transforms into an interactive version that informs visitors and encourages ongoing dialogue and connection.
